ODBC Router™ UNIX and MAINFRAMES [+]

We're using Mac OS X or UNIX (not Windows) servers!

We understand! Our goal with ODBC Router is to connect all applications with all databases regardless of computing platforms. To accomplish this, we must rely upon a standardized binary-interoperable database API that is recognized by everything from dBase to ORACLE clusters. The only such API today is Open Database Connectivity (ODBC), that was born as part of Windows and therefore is incorporated into virtually every database system on the market (even legacy systems like IMS!) While ODBC has been "cloned" to run on non-Windows servers (complete with .org like support), there is virtually no industry support for those non-Windows implementations. We have designed our solution to "leverage" an actual Windows NT/2K/Xp box as an appliance to your non-Windows systems.

  • SQL database vendors support ODBC on Windows to be effective and competitive.
  • Few database vendors choose to support non-Windows platforms "in-sync" with their Windows support.
  • This has created a conflict when the latest (security, performance or bug-fix) release of the database server must be installed before a non-Windows driver update is available.
  • Corporate managers tend to resolve such disruptions in their ability to function by eliminating non-Windows platforms or by embarking upon expensive technology conversions.

The solution: Utilize ODBC Router to leverage Windows for your Mac or UNIX server.
